That’s what friends are for.

Sponsored by the Brooklyn Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc., and with the generous support of others, the Brooklyn Friendship Fund has provided over 300 scholarships for college-bound Brooklyn girls.

SUPPORT US

“It is no accident that our very first virtual fundraiser will take place during Women’s History Month. We have made history as an organization and we will continue to have the courage to face any upcoming challenge that comes our way. Keep winning, keep rising, and keep creating HERstory!”

— Stacey Brewer, President, Brooklyn Friendship Fund, Inc.

WHO WE ARE

The Brooklyn Friendship Fund, Inc. (BFF) is the non-profit 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of the Brooklyn Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc.

The Girl Friends, Inc is a well-respected African American women's organization established in 1927 which has made a significant impact on the African American community. The organization has contributed to the NAACP, the United Negro College Fund, the Children’s Defense Fund, The Martin Luther King Memorial Foundation, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Flint Water Crisis.

For the past 38 years, the Brooklyn Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc., has sponsored the BFF scholarship fundraisers for college-bound Brooklyn girls. We have provided financial assistance of over $175,000 to approximately 300 students, many of whom were the first in their family to attend college.

Let Black Women Be Great

“During this time of increased unemployment, food insecurity and heightened awareness of racial injustice, the financial need for students of color to compete in our institutions of higher learning is even more prevalent, as they tackle remote learning and the inability to participate in the on campus experience.”

— Lucille Harper, President, The Brooklyn Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc.
